Have you ever wondered about how to conceive a baby boy? Have you felt guilty about having such thoughts worrying that somehow it is not normal or not right? Well, as it turns out, according to a number of studies, close to 90% of parents or parents to be would choose their baby’s gender if they could in a natural and safe way.
So the next question becomes, what is considered a safe a natural way to conceive a boy? And how do you increase your odds of doing so? In this article we will take a look at 2 popular ways to help you choose your baby’s sex, one natural and the other not:
1) One of the most common and well known gender selection methods is called the Shettles Method, developed by Dr. Landrum Shettles and published in his very popular “How To Choose The Sex Of Your Baby” book. This book method has been around for years and claims a success rate of approximately 75%.
At the centre of this method is the fact that the X chromosome carrying sperm for girls are much slower swimmers than their male counterparts. So what does this mean? Well if you have been wondering how to make a baby boy, you’ll want to time your intercourse as close as possible to ovulation, preferably around 24 hours before. Since a woman’s egg already carry’s an X chromosome, the gender of the baby will be determined by which male sperm fertilizes the egg. By having sex close to ovulation, you significantly improve your odds of having a boy as the male sperm out swim the females and can survive for the 24 hour period.
2. Another popular method for gender selection is known as sperm sorting.
This is a technique which has been made possible by incredible advances in science and technology. Essentially what happens is that this procedure allows X and Y chromosomes to be separated out from each other, thus giving parents the ability to choose what sex their baby will be. Depending on the choice, the correct chromosomes are introduced into the female during ovulation or via an IVF procedure which takes place outside the womb.
While many couples have claimed success with this method of gender selection, it is certainly no natural. And on top of that, it costs approximately $3,000 for the procedure which often can take up to 4 tries to work! That means you could end up spending around $12,000- Ouch! So many couples decide not to pursue this method although it has proven popular but it out of the reach of many families financially. And others still have a problem with the ethics of doing so which is perfectly natural to worry about.
There is good news in all of this. If you want to conceive a boy there are a number of things you can do that are non invasive and 100% natural. They include, timing intercourse as mentioned above, what positions you orgasm in, your body’s pH level, and many more.
